Conveniently located just 0.5 km along Kayunga Road, on Hamu-Mukasa Road in Kitete village of Mukono Central Division, our school has been serving the community since its establishment on January 29th, 2005. Over the years, we have experienced remarkable growth and development, both in terms of our infrastructure and student population. Thanks to the unwavering support of our esteemed partners, Cornerstone has emerged as one of the leading educational institutions in the region.
To ensure effective governance and strategic planning, we have a dynamic School Management Committee responsible for making policy decisions and setting ambitious goals for our school’s continuous development. Under the capable leadership of Ms. Immaculate Mawanda, our dedicated team, including a Director’s Special Assistant, Deputy Academics and Director of Studies, Deputy Nursery Section, Head of Section Nursery, and a General School Administrator, works tirelessly to provide a world-class education to our students. Our highly qualified and experienced teaching staff, along with our dedicated non-teaching and support staff, contribute to the overall success and growth of our students.
The safety and security of our students are of paramount importance to us. Our school boasts a secure, spacious, and impeccably maintained environment, encircled by protective enclosures to ensure their well-being. Within our well-equipped classrooms, we provide a safe and conducive atmosphere for learning, complete with comfortable furniture and proper ventilation. Comprehensive fire safety measures, including well-marked fire escape routes and strategically placed fire extinguishers, are implemented throughout the school premises. We have dedicated day and night Askaris to ensure the continuous safety and security of our pupils and school property. Additionally, we maintain a vigilant security committee and prioritize adherence to fire safety protocols.
At Cornerstone Junior School, we prioritize the overall welfare of our students. To support their healthy growth, we provide nutritious and balanced meals to all students, including boarders, day scholars, and nursery children. Our school menu, meticulously prepared and monitored by qualified nutritionists from Kyambogo and Makerere Universities, guarantees optimal nourishment. For our nursery section, we also offer a snack and a fruit during break time, promoting their well-being. Furthermore, we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, games, swimming, study tours, excursions, music, dance, drama, and outdoor games, to nurture the diverse talents and interests of our students. Our reliable transportation service ensures punctual and safe transportation for both primary and nursery day scholars.
Academically, our school follows the Uganda Primary School Curriculum, complemented by our exclusively designed Nursery Curriculum that follows the NCDC Learning Framework.
